UMCOR Relief Kit AOKUMCOR Cleaning Bucket and Health Kit Drive
The Lighthouse UMC, in partnership with the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, will conduct its annual cleaning bucket (formerly flood bucket) drive this summer from June 13 until July 11, 2010. This year we have expanded our drive to include UMCOR health kits because of the increased need for them to support Haiti recovery efforts. You can donate either cleaning buckets, health kits, or both. To ease the logistical requirements involved, PTCUMC volunteers will deliver the empty buckets to participating churches, and pick up the full buckets and health kits at the end of the drive. The 5-gallon empty buckets will cost $3.75 each, and participating churches will need to submit an order and payment by May 17, 2010. The supplies in the cleaning buckets cost approximately $55. (To see the bucket items list, see the UMCOR web site at http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/getconnected/supplies/flood-bucket/).
The health kits cost approximately $12. (To see the health kit items list, see the UMCOR web site at http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/getconnected/supplies/health-kit/) UMCOR desperately needs these items. We want any church in the district to be able to help UMCOR support the victims of natural disasters, the floods in Nashville being the most recent.
